Elements of Habits

Habits 365 has many designs involving triangles. The long sleeve shirts, the cycle hoodies, the shorts and even the original logo all include a triangle in their design. Since many of our Habits 365 customers have expressed curiosity over the triangle, we thought we’d take a moment to give you a behind-the-scenes look at why we’ve chosen this shape to reflect our brand.

It goes without saying that a triangle has three sides—or three components. Habits are also made up of three components. The three elements of Habits are the three ‘R’ words- Reason, Routine and Reward.

Reason: Why you want to set a goal and what is your motivation?

Routine: What habits will you implement and what will you do to accomplish your goal?

Reward: What benefits do you reap from your hard work and is your goal achieved?

Understanding these three elements allows you to better understand the inner workings of progress and how your habits will determine the outcome of your time and effort.

We also use the triangle—a three-sided figure—because of math. It takes 21 days to fully form a habit. And if you add 2 and 1, you get 3. It’s as simple as that.

If you follow our inverted 365 triangle with your finger, it starts high up, where we like to call the “start line.” Here, you haven’t done anything yet but can see the other high side of the triangle straight ahead.

To get to that far side of the triangle which we call the “finish line,” you’ll need to dig deep and challenge yourself—sometimes push yourself to the max— to form healthy habits. We call the bottom portion of the triangle the “foundation.” Sometimes you’ll be taken into a steep decline and feel hopeless and unsure of your outcome. But once you reach that bottom point of the “foundation,” you’ll have an understanding of what you’ll need to do to achieve your goal.

From that point, the triangle slowly but surely goes up until it approaches the “finish line” which represents ultimate achievement—whatever that means for you.

Success is not the same for everyone. Only you can define what it is for you.

How will you create healthier Habits and get to where you want to be?
